Die Bürgerkriege und Umbrüche in Israels arabischer Nachbarschaft, die vorsichtige Bereitschaft des Iran zur diplomatischen Lösung der Atomwaffenfrage und der jüngste Versuch zur Entwicklung einer von Fatah und Hamas gemeinsam getragenen palästinensischen Politik, die Initiativen von US-Außenminister Kerry - begründen sie, trotz des jüngsten Krieges im Gaza, eine realistischen Hoffnung auf Frieden zwischen Juden und Pälästinensern? Und wenn ja: In einem Einstaats- oder einem Zweistaaten-Modell?
Und: Was kann/muss der österreichische und europäische Beitrag sein?

 

 

Michael Warschawski, *1949 in Straßburg; ab 1965 Studium in (Theologie, später Philsophie; Gründer & Leiter (bis 1999) des Alternative Information Center in Jerusalem; Mitglied des Friedensblocks „Gush Shalom“. Co-Sprecher des binationalen „Comitee Against the Iron Fist“.
Der Sechs-Tage-Krieg 1967 ist eine wesentliche Wurzel seines bis heute andauernden Engagements für Frieden und Menschenrechte. Als couragiertem Grenzgänger zwischen den Fronten blieb dem profilierten Vertreter der radikaldemokratischen Linken auch die Erfahrung einer Gefangenschaft in einem Israelischen Gefängnis nicht erspart.
Vortrag und Diskussion werden aus dem Französischen ins Deutsche übersetzt.
