Recht auf sprachliche Vielfalt am Europäischen Fremdsprachenzentrum Graz

UNESCO-Zentrum und UNESCO-Chair diskutieren das Menschenrecht auf sprachliche Vielfalt mit Lehrern und Lehrerinnen österreichischer UNESCO-Schulen

Das Europäische Fremdsprachenzentrum Graz (European Centre for Modern Languages, ECML) ist eine Einrichtung des Europarats, das die Mitgliedstaaten bei der Umsetzung eines modernen und innovativen Fremdsprachenunterrichts unterstützt (s. Näheres hier). Das UNESCO-Zentrum und der UNESCO-Chair, in Gestalt von Dr. Klaus Starl bzw. Prof. Gerd Oberleitner, diskutierten ebendort am 16.10.2025 mit Lehrern und Lehrerinnen der österreichischen UNESCO-Schulen das Menschenrecht auf sprachliche Vielfalt und dessen Bedeutung für den Fremdsprachenunterricht. Die Veranstaltung, die in Kooperation mit der Österreichischen UNESCO-Kommission organisiert wurde, gab den teilnehmenden Lehrerinnen und Lehrern neue Impulse und stärkte ihre Kompetenz in der menschenrechtsbasierten Vermittlung von Fremdsprachen.
