Moot Court: Deadline Extended! Become a part of the Uni Graz team - apply now!

Finals 2018/19: Moritz Deinhammer, Karina Paskar, Gregor Fischer, Valerie Klein and Fabian Windhager (left to right) in front of the ECtHR building in Strasbourg.

Apply for the European Human Rights Moot Court Praktika until 22 September!

DEADLINE EXTENDED!

You are interested in human rights and their judicial protection at the European level, especially the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)? You are advanced in your legal studies and specialised in International Relations? Or else, are you an Erasmus+-law student looking for courses in English? You want to improve your legal English and strengthen your international experience?  You want to delve into a fictional, highly topical case drafted by European Court of Human Rights experts and take part in an all-European international competition, the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition (HPMCC)? You want to improve your legal writing by drafting written submissions and to enhance your oral pleading skills? You want to plead against teams from all across Europe on the premises of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights during the HPMCC finals? You want to represent the University of Graz in the event and win (paid) internships?

If you answered all or many of the above questions with "Yes, of course!", apply now for the Praktika European Human Rights Moot Court I and European Human Rights Moot Court II (both taught by ao.Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Gerd Oberleitner, UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security, and Mag. Gregor Fischer). Altogether, the two Moot Court courses amount to 4 Sst./10 ECTS. Four students will be selected as EHRMCC team members of the University of Graz.

Please provide us with the following documents:

  • curriculum vitae and
  • a letter of motivation

highlighting your prior experience in the field of international law and human rights as well as, if possible, your English and negotiation skills.

Both documents shall be >>>EXTENDED DEADLINE:<<< 22 September 2021 (23:59).
Interviews will be held in the last week of September (if necessary). A separate registration via UNIGRAZonline is not compulsory.

Further information on the courses, moot courts in general and previous editions can be found here.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
