The Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca”, the UNESCO Chair "Human Rights, Democracy and Peace" and the Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies of the University of Padova are organising the annual international human rights research conference. The 2020 theme is “Data-driven human rights research”.
The conference aims to tackle, from a multi-discplinary perspective, the challenge of “measuring” human rights and producing evidence-based and data-driven knowledge and research, with the overall goal of promoting research and stimulating thoughts about the normative/factual fault lines, the chasm between law and reality, not only in terms of compliance gaps, but also as opportunities for expanding and attuning the legal, ethical and philosophical articulations of current human rights narratives.
