The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels under the auspices of UNESCO, the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security, University of Graz, the The May 18 Institute Chonnam National University, and the Gwangju International Center are co-hosting the 10th Human Rights Paper Session as a part of the World Human Rights Cities Forum 2025 being held in Gwangju, South Korea from the 15th to the 17th of May 2025. We invite human rights researchers and practitioners to submit papers on the theme "Peace and Solidarity: The Role of Human Rights Cities in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding" with sub-themes of
- Peace and solidarity in the context of human rights cities,
- Challenges facing human rights cities amidst war and violence, strategies for human rights cities to promote peace and reconciliation and collaboration of cities at local and global levels for peacebuilding.
Submissions may also explore themes related to human rights in urban settings.
