Model UPR: Meeting of organisational team in Graz!

Each year the University of Padova holds a simulation of the Universal Periodic Review in cooperation with the University of Graz. The Model UPR is mainly organised by international university students, who have participated in the previous years’ model.

Last weekend the Uni-ETC had the pleasure of welcoming a small group consisting of the professor of international law of Human Rights and chief coordinator of the Padova Model UPR - Prof. deStefani as well as his daughter and four students of the organisational team (Secretariat) for the Padova Model UPR from the University of Padova. The visit was funded by ARQUS. During their stay, they got together with members of the Secretariat from the University of Graz – it was the first time, since beginning to plan this years’ model for the team members to meet. On Friday the Secretariat held the third and final training session for the simulation, which will take place between November 23 and November 26.

They furthermore discussed last organisational responsibilities as well as details of the evaluation process during the simulation days. On Monday, before saying goodbye to everyone, Prof. Oberleitner, Prof. deStefani and members of the Secretariat from both Padova and Graz got together for a discussion about personal experiences within the project as well as tips and tricks that the can be used during the simulation days.
