Inter-religious Dialogue and Conflict Resolution

Von 27. – 30. April 2015 konnten das Europäische Trainings- und Forschungszentrum für Menschenrechte und Demokratie der Universität Graz (UNI-ETC) und das Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz den renommierten indischen Mediations- und Konfliktlösungsexperten Ashok Panikkar, vom Meta-Culture Conflict Resolution Centre Bangalore, Indien, für eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen an der Universität Graz begrüßen.

Die Auftakts-Veranstaltung am Dienstag 28. April, die in Kooperation mit dem Afro-Asiatischen Institut, dem Institut für Religionswissenschaften der Theologischen Fakultät und dem Islamischen Kulturzentrum Graz organisiert wurde, stand ganz im Zeichen des inter-religiösen Dialogs und inter-religiöser Konfliktlösungsmechanismen. Nach den Begrüßungsworten durch Univ. Prof. Wolfgang Benedek, hielt Univ.-Prof. Basilius Groen, UNESCO-Professor für den interkulturellen und interreligiösen Dialog in Südosteuropa, ein kurzes Impulsreferat und stellte die Situation des inter-religiösen Miteinanders in Südosteuropa vor. Im Anschluss daran präsentierte Ashok Panikkar seine Erfahrungen im Bereich der inter-religiösen Konfliktlösung anhand zweier Projekte in Bangalore, die sich jeweils mit dem Dialog zwischen religiösen VertreterInnen und dem Abbau von Vorurteilen beschäftigten (Hindu-Muslim und Christian-Muslim Dialog).

Am Mittwoch den 29. April und Donnerstag den 30. April hielt Ashok Panikkar zwei Workshops am Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz der Universität Graz. Beschäftigte sich der Vortragende in seinem Workshop am ersten Tag mit Verhandlungsszenarien im Geschäftsbereich im südasiatischen Kontext (Achieving Win-Win Agreements in the South Asian Context), hatte der zweite Workshop "Humor" als wichtiger Antreiber in Verhandlungsprozessen zum Gegenstand (Humor in Mediation: A creative Tool or an Indulgence).
