On 4 November 2025, the guest lecture “Rebuilding Green: The Role of Climate Justice in Post-War Recovery of Ukraine” took place online within the Erasmus+ project “Promoting Academic Freedom in Ukraine” (FreeAc), coordinated by the University of Graz (Austria). The event was hosted by the European Training and Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy at the University of Graz and is part of the ongoing series “Ukrainian Voices: Academic Freedom in a Changing World.”
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Tetiana Drakhohrust, Professor at the Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism, Faculty of Law, West Ukrainian National University (Ternopil, Ukraine), explored how the principles of climate justice can guide Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. Dr. Drakhohrust emphasised that rebuilding the country offers a unique opportunity to integrate sustainability, environmental resilience, and social equity into national recovery policies.
A video recording of the lecture will soon be available on the project website.
The Ukrainian Voices series, co-organised by the University of Graz and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, aims to highlight Ukrainian research, foster cooperation, and promote academic freedom during wartime.
