Call for Applications – Scholarships available!

Excellently qualified individuals working on migration issues or human rights are invited to submit their application to bernadette.knauder(at)uni-graz.at.  Applications are accepted until 28 October 2019. 

BACKGROUND

International migration is a dominant topic in the political debate around the world. It is a critical policy domain for governments at all levels, as well as for both sending and receiving societies and it is an increasingly relevant phenomenon for the understanding of global dynamics and interactions. Join us to engaging in international migration issues as part of your studies!

The one-week Winter School is designed to develop and foster critical academic reflection on migration issues among master students and young professionals of different disciplines. Participants and faculty from seven different countries (Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany, and Spain) will engage in an intensive, interdisciplinary and participative exchange on the study of migration. The Winter School that is organised within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Project PROMIG (Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education)

Four scholarships for student from the University of Graz will be funded by the PROMIG project. Scholarships will cover the fees, travel to India and accommodation in Delhi. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Successful applications for scholarships will satisfy the following criteria:

  • Enrolled as student at the University of Graz (Master/Diploma level or higher);
  • A strong interest, professional and/or research background in international migration;
  • An excellent working knowledge (speaking and writing) of English;
  • The willingness and availability to travel to India and to attend the entire teaching aspect of the programme.
