Tuesday, 09 May 2023

The joint annual report 2022 of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security and the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at Local and Regional Levels is now available online, highlighting the many synergies between our institutions!

The annual report provides an overview of the Centre’s and Chair’s collaboration in 2022, including information about the second edition of the joint flagship event “Human Rights Go Local: What Works,” as well as the numerous activities, events, and publications carried out to advance human rights in Graz and beyond.

The collaborative work programme focuses on building capacities for human rights protection in the spirit of the United Nations’ vision of “leaving no one behind,” emphasising the importance of human rights education and research as well as the role of cities and local governments in human rights realisation.

Our 15 staff members collaborated to supervise 10 master’s and doctoral theses, teach 13 university courses, participate in 27 research and collaboration projects in 14 countries, and author or edit 38 publications.
Online, we reached almost 35,000 people.

We continue to embark on an exciting journey towards achieving rights-based and people-centred governance. Thank you for your support and commitment!
