Call for Registration: 5th Academy and Conference Human Rights Go Local

flyer

We cordially invite you to register for the multi-day online participatory forum “Human Rights Go Local: What Works”. The 2026 edition will scrutinize human rights-based budgeting approaches regarding their effectiveness to promote local governments’ accountability. We will discover how these budgeting approaches can serve to make human rights a reality for all.

Call for Registration

Unite with local authorities and human rights experts from across the globe to develop, adopt, and implement human rights-based budgeting at the local level. Colleagues new to the topic are explicitly encouraged to register. Participation is completely free of charge.

Register until 15 January 2026 on our website!

Your benefits of participation:

  • Join a dynamic online forum featuring impulse speeches, workshops and open discussions
  • Benefit from cross-disciplinary exchange in a confidential atmosphere
  • Together with practitioners and experts working with or in local governments you will co-create a solid foundation for human rights-based budgeting at the local level
  • Your expertise will feed into the Academy’s Outcome Document and create lasting guidance
  • Network across regions and disciplines for unparalleled collaboration and exchange

Join us in creating a solid foundation for human rights-based budgeting at the local level!

We welcome representatives of local governments (policy-making, public administration) and city networks, as well as human rights professionals and practitioners from think tanks, academia, civil society, and international or regional organisations. A dedicated program is offered to students, young professionals and individuals pursuing a new career as the next generation of human rights experts.
