Annual report 2020 now online!

Annual report 2020 of the UNESCO centre of human rights and the UNESCO chair!

We are proud to announce the joint annual report of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights and Human Security and the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2 Centre) is now available online!

The strong collaboration between these two organizations is (to our knowledge) the only such occasion worldwide where a UNESCO Category 2 Centre and UNESCO Chair work together to link academic teaching and research with practical capacity-building, training, and consultancy. The joint work programme focuses on creating capacities for protecting human rights in the spirit of the UN’s vision to “leave no one behind”, building on the importance of human rights education and research, as well as the role of cities and local governments in the realization of human rights.

The annual report provides an overview of the cooperation of the Centre and Chair in 2020 and presents the activities, events, and publications realized. We look forward to many exciting and fruitful years ahead!
